Locksmiths
Set up NPC locksmith locations, services and prices
Locksmiths are managed in-game. No locations are placed automatically.
Open locksmiths
Open /vehiclekeysadmin > Locksmiths.
Add a location
Choose Import > Import all default locations for Los Santos, Sandy Shores and Paleto Bay. Existing defaults are skipped.
For a custom location, click Add locksmith. Enter a name and ped model, then use Place in-game. Confirm the preview, adjust its position and rotation, then confirm again.
Configure the location
Edit the location to set its map blip, interaction distance, available services and prices.
Set a service cooldown and a 24-hour service limit if needed. The limit applies per owner, vehicle and location; 0 means unlimited.
Maximum keys per vehicle adds a local copy limit. 0 uses the resource-wide limit.
Save the location
Click Save location. Changes take effect without a restart. Imported locations are saved immediately and can be edited from the list.
Services
| Service | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Spare key | Creates another physical copy. Require a held key when buying a spare is enabled by default. |
| Replacement key | Replaces a missing key when the owner holds no valid key. Other copies keep working. |
| Rekey vehicle | Disables old personal keys and shared keys, then issues a replacement. Separate job access stays valid. |
Virtual mode offers replacement and rekeying, without physical spares.
When rekeying is enabled, replacement also offers Invalidate old keys. This charges the Rekey price as the total, not both service prices. Rekeying requires confirmation.
Payments and access
Customers can pay by cash or bank. There's no payment-method setting per location.
Only registered owners can buy services. Shared access isn't enough. Vehicles can be stored or unspawned; owners must stay near the locksmith.
If delivery is interrupted, the menu shows Unfinished services > Recover. Recovering a paid order doesn't charge again.
After setup, check that the NPC appears and lists a registered owner's stored vehicles.
