Settings (v4)
Change gameplay settings from the garage admin panel
In Advanced Garages v4, open /garageadmin and select Settings. You need the same admin permissions used to create garages.
Use the category tabs or search for a setting by its name, description or old config key. Click Save to apply your changes to the server and connected players. Changes apply without restarting the resource. Spawning and damage options apply when a vehicle is next stored or retrieved.
The panel asks before discarding unsaved changes when you switch admin tabs or close it. If another admin saves first, reload the latest settings before saving yours.
Settings that depend on another option appear only when that option allows them. For example, turn on Save vehicle damage to show Save body deformation. Hidden settings keep their saved values and stay out of search results.
Where settings live
| Category | Settings |
|---|---|
| Vehicles | Spawning, saved modifications, damage and body deformation |
| Garages | Public and private storage, purchase visibility, return fees and interior behaviour |
| Transfers | Transfers between garages and players, transfer fees, blacklists and sharing |
| Impound | Default society account and release times |
| Interface | Vehicle images, keybinds and prompts |
With Require transfers between public garages on, vehicles must be collected from the public garage where they were stored. Turn it off to allow collection from any public garage.
Private garage vehicle access appears when that transfer requirement is off. New installations default to Use public garage rules, which also allows collection from public garages in private garages. Choose Only vehicles stored in this garage to keep private storage separate. Shared vehicle pools always use separate storage. Existing saved choices are preserved.
Allow duplicate vehicle spawns from other scripts allows another copy of a vehicle to spawn while it is already out. It applies only to garages opened by other scripts that are not listed in the admin panel.
Hide sold-out garages is enabled by default under Garages > Purchasable garages. Sale entrances and blips disappear when stock runs out, then return when stock becomes available. Owners and members keep their purchased garage entrance and configured blip. Turn this setting off to keep sold-out adverts visible. Each garage's Show sale advert blip option still controls whether its advert has a blip.
Each garage still controls its own interactions, blips, interior and infinite spawns. Edit those in the garage's admin tab. Impounds can override the default society account and release times.
Framework and integration choices, language and currency formatting, custom vehicle labels, commands, SQL setup and debugging stay in config/config.lua. IPL setup stays in config/config.ipls.lua. Custom event hooks stay in config/config-cl.lua and config/config-sv.lua. Restart the resource after changing these files.
The JG Scripts watermark is always visible. Any old Config.HideWatermark value is ignored.
Updating an existing server
Back up your configuration
Keep your existing config/ folder when installing v4. Back up your database too. The first start reads your existing values for the settings moving into the admin panel.
Prepare the settings table
With Config.AutoRunSQL = true, the resource creates the garage_settings table automatically. If you've disabled automatic SQL, run install/settings.sql before starting the updated resource. Fresh installations include this table in both framework install files.
Start and check your settings
Start jg-advancedgarages, then open /garageadmin > Settings. Check that your existing values were imported.
The database now stores these settings. Later edits to the old gameplay options in config/config.lua won't override them. You can remove those old lines after checking the import. Keep backing up garage_settings with the rest of your database.
Lists and labels
Enter one vehicle spawn name per line in Player transfer blacklist. Enter one number per line in Release times (hours); 0 means immediate release.
Set custom vehicle labels in Config.VehicleLabels in config/config.lua. See Vehicle Labels for an example.
Leave an optional society account blank to disable its default payout. Set a fee to 0 to make it free.
